Thida 1st Semester Performance

A few weeks ago the kids from IEP 1,2, and 3 put on a performance on the main stage at Thida. Leading up to the event, there were countless practices. I grumbled about these practices because they took away from my class time. Our final exams for first semester were the following week.

Days before the performance several of the Thai teachers, encircled me and asked me to please come to the performance. I had no idea what the performance was about but I did sit in on the rehearsal the day before. It wasn't until the day of the performance and I saw the costumes that I begin to understand what the performance was about. Snow White. While I might not agree with the massive amount of makeup the parents of my students apply to their own children. I don't agree with the 4:30 am school arrivals that the kids, endure to allow enough time for this makeup application. Also, there was one song during the performance I would have removed by the singer Ke$ha. Maybe its because I'm American but the fake gun shooting at the end could have been deleted. Otherwise the performance was incredible and I was very impressed and proud of all the students that participated. I have attached a link to the video on youtube. Enjoy.
